If I didn’t have Sensi, I wouldn’t be able to acknowledge and recognize [the caregivers].

If I could have Sensi in every home, especially when they first start, when a client first has a caregiver, it’s a brand new situation. Maybe I haven’t used that caregiver before and they’re going out, brand new environment. I can actually acknowledge them and do positive reinforcement. I’m talking about the caregiver right now, which means the world to them. Because I might be apprised of some kind word from the client, that says ‘you’re lovely, don’t go away, I had a wonderful day with you.’ If I didn’t have Sensi, I wouldn’t be able to acknowledge and recognize them. Does Sensi act as a safety net when caregivers and families aren’t present?

I have care managers and I have caregivers and I have sales representatives but we’re not always in the home. This is the only industry that I know of that there’s no supervision. Sensi gives me that layer of comfort that there are additional resources just in case.

What is a privacy-friendly alternative to cameras for senior monitoring?

Most of the time they don't want cameras in there. And almost all the time they don't want a caregiver in there, but they will accept Sensi because Sensi is kind of neutral. I love to say it's a co-pilot.

I just had an information call yesterday and there’s three daughters and the older adult. This is for the father. He has, they say, they think dementia, but he hasn’t been formally diagnosed. And they’re doing what everybody does. They’re trying to rationalize with their father and they’re trying to get him to say ‘yes, I need care.’ Now, we all know in the home care business, that is never going to happen. And when you have three or four people all trying to decide, and then they want somebody that doesn’t really understand what’s going on to agree. That’s very rare that it’s going to happen. Most of the time they don’t want cameras in there. And almost all the time they don’t want a caregiver in there, but they will accept Sensi because Sensi is kind of neutral. I love to say it’s a co-pilot. It doesn’t have any ulterior motive. It’s only there to support all of you until maybe you come to a decision. Until maybe we figure out exactly what’s going on with that. So I get it in that way because they all go, ‘okay, we can agree to that.

Why do families choose Sensi instead of other systems like Alexa or home cameras?

This is artificial intelligence taking those words and I can't go in and listen to you.

It’s just that safety net that you can be self-assured that when we’re not there, we still are in a big way. And I always make sure to tell them, look, this is not something that I can, you know, it’s not like a camera, that I can call, I can get on my phone and say, I’m listening to what’s going on in the house or I’m watching you. Sensi is keeping that internal data, and that data is confined to that client only, and being able to protect that client and preventing an outcome, a bad outcome.

People don't really see [Sensi], but know that it's working in the background is critical to success.

They want their privacy, they don’t want their family members or love ones to see them in the manner that they may not be wanting and may feel unpresentable. So having something like Sensi, like I said, because it’s innocuous and people don’t really see it, but know that it’s working in the background is critical to success.

When I heard about Sensi, what perked my ear about it was, as corny as it sounds, or probably strange as it sounds compared to what most people are looking at, is the proactive way that we can reinforce an awesome job. You know, sadly, most great caregivers are the people that never get attention, because there’s no complaints, there’s no issues, there’s no incidents happening with their clients. She has not had any falls. She hasn’t had any discomfort because we can see that with Sensi on a day-to-day basis. So we can relay that to them, which makes them feel at ease. Does Sensi help reduce hospitalizations and rehospitalizations?

We’re preventing people from going to the hospital, preventing people from ending up in situations that they don’t want. My readmission rate overall was 4.74% in 2024 and year to date it’s 4.35%. We hit our goals and wouldn’t have been able to do that without Sensi.
